KING ME!

Throughout  the years their have been extensive amount of talk as to who will be next to take the throne, as LeBron James is currently on top of the Kingdom leading into his 16th season. We are talking about a man that has been to 8 straight finals, but his reign can not last forever. On 11/27/2018 James had one of the worst nights of his career vs. the up and coming Denver Nuggets  with 14pts 7rbs 2asts 5/15 FGs , 0 of 4 from Three. It was tough to watch the King struggle. It is no secret that LeBron James’ birthday is about a month away and he will be turning 34. With a track record of perfect health besides cramps here and there, could the King’s Longevity come to an end soon? If so , Who is the rightful heir to the throne?

There is an extensive amount of amazing talent in the NBA, but among the youth( 25 and younger) who will solidify themselves as the “Greatest” when LeBron decides to enter retirement. Some may say Ben Simmons because of  his incredible playmaking abilities and  athleticism to get to the rim at will. In fact some would call him ‘LeBron James jr’ coming out of college. Last year Simmons averaged 15.8pts, 8.1rbs, 8.2asts 54% FGs, 0% from behind the arc and took home the Rookie of the Year award. What Simmons lacks is obviously a three point shot but also the dominance and assertiveness to take over a game. Ben Simmons is currently in his 3rd year, although he is only 22 and has a lot of room for growth, I don’t believe Simmons will be the one to rise above the fire.

Now we have those entering their primes like “Young Hakeem” In the 24 year old Joel Embiid. Embiid is currently averaging a career high 28.1pts 13.3rbs 3.5asts 2.0blks 52% FGs and 32%,from three, he has one of the most complete games of the young stars taking over the League. Embiid plays on both sides of the floor being an Elite offensive threat while also being respected around the rim. If he continues to evolve his skills(Including Trolling NBA Stars) Embiid could end up being an All-Time Great. This could also be said about other young stars like Giannis Antekounmpo, Kristaps Porzingis and one may even say Zion Williamson (yes I know he isn’t in the league and is unproven) … But one stands out from the rest.

He is 19 years old, played professional basketball before entering the League and is the baddest motherf*cker when he steps on the court. Doncic … Luka Doncic. A rookie with the confidence and swagger that Doncic plays with is unheard of. Although it is early through 18 games Doncic is averaging 19.1pts 6.6rbs 4.3asts 1.0stls 45% FGs and 39% from three. To put his numbers into perspective LeBron James averaged his rookie year 20.9pts 5.5rbs and 5.9asts on 44% FGs and 29% from three. If your team had the chance to draft Doncic and didn’t … your city missed out on a future SUPERSTAR …No cap. He is 6’7  218lb athletic, can handle the ball, incredible basketball IQ for his age and has 3 point shot that would impress Stephen Curry. Playing along side Dennis Smith jr will only compliment Doncic’s game amd they will undoubtly lead the Dallas Mavericks to a Championship in the near future. Watch a Luka Doncic game and you will quickly agree as that this is the ONLY man that can fill LeBron James’ shoes. Cold Blooded Killa.

Who is Your G.O.A.T.

The Michael Jordan vs. LeBron James debate will forever be an ongoing conversation, but today we will put that to an end. Currently the Lebron-less Cleveland Cavaliers are off to a miserable 2-14 start, with nothing but a top lottery pick in its future. Well if you didn’t know LeBron James here is a little recap. James is an athletic 6’8 250lb Small forward that can get to the rim with ease, and has an astounding basketball mind. For his Career he averages 27pts 7rbs and 7asts. James is averaging more points than the NBA Leading scorer in Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, and more assists than Gary Payton. Bron is the real deal.

But so is Jordan, Michael Jordan had an tad of an unusual career as he retired early to play baseball. During the 1993-1994 season in which Jordan left the Bulls had a surprising 55-27 record as Scottie Pippen lead them to the playoffs. Now if you don’t know Michael Jordan you have a serious problem and should stop it and get some help. Jordan was a 6’6 195lb shooting guard that averaged 30pts 6rbs 5asts for his career. Not to mention his six rings, 10x leader in scoring and one defensive player of the year.

These two transcendent players should not be compared to one another. Why you may ask? Not because they played in two different eras of basketball but because LeBron James himself can affect the game in so many ways that he is the system and this isn’t always a positive. In fact Brons' control over the Cavaliers lead to the trading of Kyrie Irving. The 2017-18 Cavs made an excessive amount of moves in order to build a sufficient team to build around James ultimately failing and leading to his departure.  In the case with Michael Jordan he was a dynamic 2-way player without the dominance of the ball in his hands. The Chicago Bulls built their to team to compliment one another with a legendary COACH in Phil Jackson...But the choice is yours. There have been  extensive amount of  NBA talent  that have left their mark on this league throughout the years, from Larry Bird to Shaquille O' Neal. Who is Your G.O.A.T. ?
