In Last nights game against the New York
Knicks proved to show that Embiid and Simmons will not successfully coexist as
teammates. At halftime the Sixers were hanging on by a thread as there were
down 51-39. Although without Al Horford and Josh Richardson, to defeat this
4-16 Knicks squad is not rocket science. They ultimately figured it out as they
beat the Knicks 101-95. The Sixers starters got a breath of fresh air as James
Ennis came alive off the bench as their only bench player with 5+ points scoring 20pts (3-4 3PM) (9-9
FTM). Embiid had 27pts 17rbs 2asts 3blks 3TOs on 37% FGs. Simmons put up 15pts
5rbs 8asts 2stls 4TOs on 45% FGs. Ben Simmons is Top 5 in steals and has shown
to fantastic versatile defender but his offense could be compared to Swiss cheese
or perhaps this team isn’t built to maximize his skillset. Joel Embiid is the
best center in basketball but one could make an argument about his durability
and commitment to evolve as a player. The Sixers bench is incredible depleted,
without a major scoring effort it is a non factor. Could the 76ers be the 2013-14 Warriors who
are just in need of a Head Coach change in order to reach that next level?
